Electric vehicle battery pack assembly and electronics enclosure manufacturing require sealing materials that combine elastic gasketing performance with chemical cleanliness, fire safety, and compatibility with automated dispensing systems. Battery pack perimeter seals must accommodate thermal expansion from charge-discharge cycling while providing moisture ingress protection at IP67 or higher ratings. Fire safety classifications (UL94, EN 45545) are increasingly specified for materials used in or adjacent to battery modules. And the trend toward formed-in-place gasket (FIPG) application — where sealant is robotically dispensed directly onto mating surfaces — demands formulations with precisely controlled rheology, consistent cure profiles, and minimal lot-to-lot variation.

MS polymer sealants address these requirements through a moisture-cure chemistry that is inherently isocyanate-free, solvent-free, and silicone-free — eliminating the surface contamination risks that silicone materials create in electronics and coating environments. Formulations can be engineered for controlled elastic modulus (from soft gasketing to semi-structural bonding), fire-retardant filler loading for UL94 V-0 classification, and low ionic contamination for electronics-adjacent applications. The one-component format eliminates mixing and pot-life management, reducing process complexity on automated production lines.

Applications span battery pack perimeter sealing, cell-to-cell module bonding, power electronics housing seals, outdoor telecom and LED driver enclosures, and EV charging station pedestal and connector gasketing. Thermally conductive filler options are available for applications requiring heat dissipation management.
